A long way from the shore line

A long way from the shoreline
where you where standing once
in a dream lost far in memory
whispering back to me your words.

I stand here watching the waves
over the horizon is the sun
and the plan holding you
flying across the gray droll sky.

I have to cover my eyes
shielding it away from the pain
not only of this exploding sun
but from the pain of you gone.

A long way from the shoreline
is where I want to be laying,
laying next to my best friend
no romance is there but love is.

All is gone; all-save the memory
that ghosts behind you.
No words for us to speak together
nor the words of written form.

The time you are gone I sit
alone in these doldrums
when you come back my suns will meet,
causing complete distortion of

time
and
reality.

Until then my friend I sit here
and wait for your triumphant return.
Until that dreary, cold, winter day
I stand here, a long way from the shore line.

Dedicated to Jacoby and his leaving. I love you! In this the shoreline is my source of flowing happiness, the suns are him and I. There is so much to this poem I feel that I cannot simply put into words.
